Mary Jane Hilpipre, 90, of Minburn, IA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at King's Garden Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes.
Mary was born in Eagle Grove, IA on August 1, 1933 to Carl Hudgins and Violet (Johnson) Hudgins. She grew up alongside her 6 siblings and graduated from Eagle Grove High School.
The thing that Mary cherished the most throughout her life was her family. She loved any time she got to spend with them, and especially loved cooking and sharing meals with those she loved. No one ever left Mary's house with an empty stomach. Her and her husband, Kenneth Hilpipre, took their love of entertaining guests and turned it into a business. The two of them ran Ken and Janes Corner Bar and Grille in Bouton, IA for many years. Mary was kind to everyone she met and treated everyone as if they were a member of her own family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Hilpipre; her two sons, Richard Hilpipre and Mark Hilpipre, and her sisters, Ruth Freeman and Nancy Hilpipre.
She is survived by her 6 daughters, Colleen (Doug) Boehm, Cheryl McCool, Denise (Neil) Johnson, Jeanine (Kevin) Clark, Rachelle (Larry) Ohrtman, and Joline (Scott) Neuman; her daughter-in-law, Jodi Hilpipre; her siblings, Carla (Don) Sheriff, Donna Arthur, and Jerry (Phyllis) Hudgins, as well many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Mary will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn, IA. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at The Bank in Minburn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Suncrest Hospice or King's Garden Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes. Online condolences can be made to the family at caldwellparrish.com.
