Dean H Leafe

Dean H. Leafe, 72, of Menominee passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 7, 1952, to the late Harris and Jean (Benard) Leafe in Marinette. He graduated from Menominee High School in 1970 and proudly served his country in the Navy for four years. On April 29, 1972, Dean married Gail Leppi at the former St. John's Catholic Church in Menominee; she preceded him in death on June 25, 2007. He worked for Safeguard, Haywood Wakefield (the current Lloyd Flanders), Frigo Cheese, and Badger Paper as a Data Processing Manager, retiring in 2014. Dean spent his free time enjoying friends and family, he enjoyed traveling and staying active. Often times weekends were filled with fun competitions such as golf, playing smear, ping pong and bowling tournaments - just to name a few. He had a love for all sports, playing and watching Packers, Brewers, golf, basketball and his grandchildren.
Since retiring, he continued an active life. During summer months, you would most likely find him putzing in the garage, on the golf course or on the river. Also spending cherished time with family, friends and being outdoors, enjoying his back porch view and fishing and boating. He had a contagious laugh, one that would make anyone smile. He treated his friends like family and together shared many special memories. He was loved by so many and will be sadly missed.
Dean is survived by his significant other, Sandy Fernstrum of Menominee; daughter, Valerie (Clinton) Klimek of Suamico; grandchildren: Colton, Calix, Gabrielle, and Delaney; sisters, Donna (Russel) Wendrick of Escanaba and Barbara (Stewart) Clements of Greenville, WI; brother; Dennis Leafe, Marinette, Wi; nieces; nephews; and many lifelong friendships.
Dean was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Gail; brothers, Robert Leafe and James Anderson.
A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
