Dean R. Peterson

Dean R. Peterson, 60, of Greeley died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 29, 1949 in Greeley to Melvin & Virginia Marie (Jones) Peterson. Dean graduated from Greeley West in 1967 and married Donna K. Stroh at St. Mary's Catholic Church and they later divorced. He was a Snap-On Tools salesman for over 20 years and then as an independent tool salesman for 7 years. Dean enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and was a Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies fan as well as an overall sports fan. He liked watching games with his family and working on cars. Dean enjoyed family boating trips on Lake Powell. He loved his dogs, Madee, Tyson, Buddy and Buck. He is survived by his mother, Virginia J. Billings of Greeley; sons, James & wife Cindy Peterson and Michael Peterson all of Greeley; brothers, Randy A. Peterson & wife Ardis and Bob Billings and wife Mary all of Greeley; 2 grandchildren, Brendan & Macee Peterson of Greeley; 2 nieces, Allie & Tori Billings of Greeley. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Otis & Helen Jones, and his stepfather, Robert C. Billings. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Weld County Humane Society in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
