DeAndre Lamar Sawyer

DeAndre Lamar Sawyer, 28, of Battle Creek, MI passed away unexpectedly on April 30,2024. Born March 18, 1996 in Battle Creek to Andre Sawyer and Lena White. He was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, class of 2014, and He enjoyed cooking. DeAndre was a Dietary Cook for the past five years.
He enjoyed family gatherings, karaoke, collecting firearms, eating and spending time with his friends. He was the life of the party and was always cracking jokes. If he wasn't making people laugh he was singing loud and proud an r&b song.
DeAndre is survived by his father, Andre and his mother, Lena. He is also survived by his grandfather, Andrew Smith; sisters, DeLena Bailey and Denise Day; Aunts, Carla Connerty, Shondell Sawyer, Katrina Smith, Kim Armstrong, Aretha Calvin; Uncles, Glen(Brenda) White, Brett (Elizabeth) White, Bernard (Allison) Gupton; Nephews, NaZaire Bailey, NaZeon Bailey and Kobe Donaldson; Niece, Kali Donaldson and a host of cousins, friends and family.
He was proceeded in death by his brother, Andrew Sawyer II; grandmothers, Mildverta Sawyer and Maxine White and grandfather Alfred White.
Services to honor DeAndre's life will be held on May 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at New Harvest Christian Center, 155 W. Van Buren Street, Battle Creek, MI. A reception will be held at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 88 Saratoga Ave, Battle Creek, MI 49037 from 3-7 p.m.
DeAndre's presence will be truly missed, but his memory will continue to be a beacon of warmth and joy for all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
