Deane Fredrick Hedges

Deane Fredrick Hedges son of Theodore G Hedges and Gladys M Hedges born in Northfield Vermont April 9, 1941 passed away at home in Montpelier Vermont January 26, 2024 at the age of 82. He left behind his wife of 60 years Raylene E Hedges and 3 children Christopher D Hedges, Charlene A Hedges and Crystal M Hedges, 2 grandchildren Ashley A Hedges and Andrea A Hedges, 2 great grandchildren Loki Thomas and Aria Thomas, and two siblings, Richard Hedges and Deanna Berns.
He was a miracle man. He survived may hard battles. He was told many time he wouldn't survive but he always proved them wrong. He was the toughest man you will ever know. He never gave up no matter what he faced. He had a lot of fight. Each time they told him he would die but he said god had more work for him to do. He loved his family, he loved his life, he loved his work, he loved this world and never wanted to leave.
He was a great husband and said his wife was the best thing that every happened to him.
He worked very hard his whole life and always gave everything he had to his family.
He devoted 60 years to taking care of Crystal Springs Water System in East Montpelier Vermont and 50 years to taking care of Berlin Water Company in Berlin Vermont. He worked night and day to give people safe drinking water.
For 50 years owned and managed a number of rental units in Barre Vermont. He was a great landlord and worked very hard to give people a nice place to live.
His work for god is now complete. He is with the lord in heaven.
Funeral will be held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 16 Barre St, Montpelier, VT 05602, Saturday February 3, 2024 at 11:00 am.
Reception will be held at American Legion 21 Main St Montpelier, VT 05602 after the funeral.
