Deanna Kay Duroe, 59, of Charles City, Iowa passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022, in Johnston, Iowa.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor from 1-4pm on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at The Pub on the Cedar in Charles City, Iowa.
Deanna was born on May 25, 1963, in Charles City, Iowa to Arnold and Bernice (Torkelson) Voelker. She attended school in Charles City through the years until she later graduated from Charles City High School.
Deanna worked for Hy-Vee and as a nursing assistant for most of her life in the different towns she lived in across Iowa before moving back to her home in Charles City. Here she continued her career with Hy-Vee as the HBC Manager for many years before returning to her passion for caring for others at Riverside Assisted Living.
Spending time in nature was something that brought her peace. After growing up on the family farm as a child Deanna always enjoyed the tranquility that came with the quiet of being outdoors. This was reflected in her passion for gardening, house plants, and appreciating to the calm of a fresh fallen snow.
Left to cherish her memories include her children: Ashley (Andrew) Olson, Alexandra (Jason) Jordan, and Michael Duroe; 2 grandchildren: Kaiden and Kinzie Olson; Mother: Bernice Voelker; Brother: Brian (Ann) Voelker; Sister: Ronda (Randy) Boehmer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Ernest and Alvina Voelker and Clarence and Othelia Torkelson; Father: Arnold Voelker; and Sister: Lori Stough.
