Melissa Ann Duroe, 43, of Tiffin, Iowa, formerly of Burlington, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at her home.
Born March 1, 1982, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Donald and Cathy (Ita) Boeset.
She married B.J. Duroe on October 5, 2019, at Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington.
Melissa worked for Walmart for 20 years both in the Burlington store and the Coralville store.
She was the loving mother of three children and three grandchildren! She loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially Caitlin Clark and enjoyed following her nieces and nephew's sports, line dancing and traveling to beaches with her brother and sister-in-law. Melissa was fun loving, ornery and very family oriented!
She is survived by her husband B.J. Duroe; three children, Ashley Duroe Olson (Andrew), Alexandra Duroe Jordon (Jason) and Michael Duroe (Jon); three grandchildren Kaiden Olson, Kinzie Olson and Amelia Jordon; mother Cathy Boeset; siblings, Nick Boeset (Reagan), Kimberly Harms, David Boeset, Harold Boeset and Tim Boeset; nephew Beckett and nieces Harper, Ashley and Michelle.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother Craig Boeset.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 15th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The celebration of life for Melissa will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16th at Zion United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Iowa City Hospice and Zion United Church of Christ.
According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
