Debra J Kempf, age 71, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 22, 1954 in Blackstone, Virginia to Alys Ruth (Horton) and James Detamore. She attended Walnut Ridge High School. Debbie worked for the Kroger Company for over 40 years. On March 13, 1976, Debbie married John Kempf, enjoying 49 years of loving companionship. In her spare time, Debbie enjoyed spending time with her Children and grandchildren, going on numerous beach vacations with her husband John and many other vacations with her children and grandchildren.

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband John and her parents Alys and James Detamore.

Debbie is survived by her sisters, Jamie (Gary) Smith, Angela (Aaron) Karst; her brothers, Ronald (Kay) Detamore and Jerry (Kathy) Detamore; her sons, Jeremy (Sherry) Detamore, Jonathan Kempf, Joshua Kempf; her daughter, Sarah Kempf; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Brenden, Alyssia, Cody, Bryson and Kellen; and great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Brooklyn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Debbie's life will be held at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Debra Kempf.
