Debora Kay Knutson, 65, of Marshfield passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the Marshfield Medical Center due to complications from leukemia.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Debora was born October 21, 1959 in Eau Claire to Donald and Patricia (Cleaveland) Knutson. She was joined in 1961 by her brother, Dennis. In 1967 her mother married Dr. Clarence Topp and together they moved the children to Marshfield where Deb continued her education, graduating from Marshfield Senior High in 1977. She went on to get her undergrad at UW Whitewater and later graduated from UW Madison with a Master Degree in Social Welfare.

An eclectic woman, Debora led a life of variety. She loved Indian food, reading books-a-plenty, "thrifting" with her friends, and was a lover of animals (specifically cats and goats). She used her education working in the juvenile justice system, had managed a B. Dalton Bookstore in Washington DC, managed an emergency veterinary clinic in Madison, and was an independent bookkeeper for many years. A proud democrat, Debora volunteered countless hours tirelessly canvassing for the causes most important to her. She had been involved with United Unitarian Fellowship in Madison and had continued her membership in a sister society here in Marshfield. She will be remembered most for her kindness and generosity.

Debora is survived by her step-father Dr. Clarence Topp of Marshfield and her dear longtime friends Tina Israel of Madison and Peggy Hartwig of Marshfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Janet Knutson, and her brother Dennis.
