Deborah Theresa Blanchard, 85, of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Carroll Lutheran Village.
Born October 2, 1938, in Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Galvin) Tuohy. She was the beloved wife of the late David Charles Blanchard, who predeceased her in 2010.
Deborah was a dedicated and hardworking individual who held different jobs over the course of her life. She was a licensed practical nurse in California until she moved to Maryland where she loved working as a teacher's aide for preschoolers. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, camping, going on cruises and traveling. Deborah was fond of animals, especially dogs. She was a devout woman of strong Catholic faith and will be missed by all those who knew her.
Surviving Deborah are her children Donald Blanchard and wife Amanda of Taneytown, and Susan Santana of Edgewood; grandchildren Jared, Jason, Jessica, and Joshua; siblings John Christopher Tuohy of England, Michael Tuohy of England, Katheleen Zawacki of Massachusetts, Joan Amberman of Sykesville, Daniel Tuohy of England, Dermot Tuohy of Ireland, Phyllis O'Sullivan of Ireland, and Stephen Tuohy of Ireland.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Maureen Godin, James Tuohy, Patrick Tuohy, and Timothy Tuohy.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11am at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.prittsfuneralhome.com
