Cayetano, Deborah S., age 68, of Fair Lawn, on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to August Anthony Sindone and Mildred Sindone (Wagner). Deborah grew up in New Milford and Bergenfield before later in life moving to Fair Lawn where she had resided for the last 20 years. A hard worker, Deborah worked as a server for nearly a decade at the Empress Diner in Fair Lawn before retiring. A favorite of regular customers, Deborah was recognized for her service even after retirement while out in her local community. In her spare Deborah volunteered, kept active and had fun. She was a committed Yankee fan, rooting for her team and attending games with her son.
Deborah was an avid animal lover, caring for own pets throughout her life and passed that compassion and caring mentality down to her son. She donated to numerous organizations as well. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Deborah will remember her for her outgoing and compassionate nature. She was very friendly and enjoyed brightening the days of the people she encountered, especially at her job.
Deborah was the beloved mother of Craig Cayetano of Hawthorne. Sister of Vicki Chestnut now residing in Quincy, California. Aunt of Jennifer Mauldin, Tim Elliott, Dennis Elliot, Chris Elliot along with her extended family Rosa (Rosie) O'Shea, Pedro Chaupiz, Sally Chaupiz, Daniel Chaupiz, Bentley Chaupiz, Tabitha O'Shea, Matthew O'Shea, Ethan Chaupiz and Raquel Chaupiz. Predeceased by her siblings August Sindone, Joseph Sindone, and Theresa Hudson.
Cremation will take place privately. Friends may visit with the family at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne, on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 6:30 - 8:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the PCSPCA-Passaic County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, based in Hawthorne, NJ.
