Deborah Clore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2025.
Deborah Jean (Iott) Clore, 78, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellis, Kansas. She was born on November 21, 1947, in Independence, Missouri, to Clayton Henry and Norma Jean (Nihill) Iott. On July 16, 1976, she was united in marriage to Douglas L. Clore in Kansas City, sharing a loving marriage until his passing in 2015.
Deborah graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1965 before earning her associate degree. She later retired from a career in medical coding. A proud farm and dairy farm wife, Deborah embraced the hard work and steady rhythm of rural life. She was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and found joy in camping, needlepoint, and crocheting. Known for her kindness and giving nature, she loved taking care of others, playing Bingo, visiting Branson, and, above all, being "Grandma" and "Nana."
She is survived by her daughters, Ericka (Lavern) Pfeifer of WaKeeney, KS, Cynthia (Gregory) Wireman of Las Vegas, NV, Kristina Clore of Hays, KS, and special daughter, Courtney Riggle; brothers, Daniel Iott of Independence, MO and David (Patti) Iott of Warrensburg, MO; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Lora) Pfeifer, Joshua Pfeifer, Taylor Schonhoff, Evan Schonhoff, Kaylie Wireman, Morgan Wireman, Isabella Clore, and Piper McClung; and two great-grandchildren, Valarie and Levi Pfeifer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Douglas.
Deborah's warmth, generosity, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Baker Township Cemetery in Quinter, Kansas. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until noon, with the family greeting friends at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home in Hoxie, KS.
Memorial contributions are suggested to and may be sent to Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, PO Box 987, Hoxie, KS 67740.
