Deborah Bias Coffman, a cherished soul born on November 15, 1949, in Selmer, Tennessee, was the beloved daughter of the late Council Lawyer and Ervie Pauline Treece Bias. She embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a flair for creativity that emanated from her very being.
A proud graduate of Adamsville High School, class of 1967, Deborah further pursued her passion for beauty and style by studying cosmetology in Memphis.
Her journey led her to unite in marriage with Jack Lancaster Coffman on April 11, 1998, who preceded her on March 30, 2020. Together, they shared a love that enriched their lives and those around them.
Deborah's professional life was marked by dedication and craftsmanship as she contributed her talents to various local sewing factories including USA Classic where she made clothing patterns, eventually spending 26 years as a supervisor at Monogram before retiring in 2022. Her artistry in sewing began in her youth, as she lovingly created garments for her dolls, blossoming into a skill that allowed her to design clothes for herself and her daughter. A woman of exquisite taste, she adorned her homes with treasures from estate sales, each piece a testament to her eye for beauty.
Her home was a reflection of her warmth and generosity, a place where gatherings flourished, especially at their river cabin. An ardent supporter of the Adamsville Cardinals and their football team, Deborah and Jack were steadfast fans, rarely missing a game. Her enthusiasm extended to cheering for her beloved Tennessee Volunteers in football, Kentucky's basketball team, and the Tennessee Titans. Known for her delight in Hallmark movies, she could quote scenes and dialogue with an infectious charm.
Deborah was a member of New Hope Methodist Church in Michie, Tennessee. In a profound act of faith, she was baptized there on April 2, 2023.
On May 26, 2025, Deborah departed this life in Adamsville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 11 days. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Chasteti Bias Plunk of Adamsville; her sister, Gaylia Robinson and husband Ralph of Selmer; three brothers, Bobby Bias and wife Patsy Kaye of Adamsville, TN, Larry Bias and wife Betty of Adamsville, TN, and Danny Bias and wife Linda of Selmer, TN; a stepdaughter, Melanie Reaves of Pickwick, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Deborah Bias Coffman's life was a beautiful tapestry woven from love, laughter, and passion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.
