Deborah Lynn (Cox) McLaughlin, 69, passed away on July 14, 2025 in Asheville, NC. Deborah was born February 5, 1956 in Manistee, Michigan and was the daughter of Viola and Paul Cox. She attended Owen High School and McDowell Technical Community College. Debbie worked in Dietary Services at Highland Farms Nursing Home in Black Mountain, NC and was also an in-home healthcare CNA. She was happily married to Willie McLaughlin for 29 years. Her hobbies included traveling, cooking, drawing, coloring, sewing and crochet. She also collected hummingbird and cow themed items and cookbooks. Debbie was a loving wife, a beloved sister, a caring mother and a proud grandmother and great grandmother. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Paul Cox; brother, Paul Cox II and great grandson, Thesius Allen. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Willie McLaughlin; daughter, Charity Hammond; son, Bruce Hammond II; brother, Kenneth Cox; sister, Branda Cox; granddaughters, Starr Allen and Violet Tiers; grandsons, Vladimir Tiers, James Hammond, and Charley Smiley and great grandson, Damon Allen.
