It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debbie (Deborah Drake Corgan), our beloved wife, sister and family member. Debbie was born on November 11, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Debbie graduated from Dallas High School, Dallas, PA, and began a career in banking. Having met the love of her life, William H. Corgan, Jr., they moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and were involved in several business ventures.
Debbie and Billy moved back to Dallas and married in 1989. After living in Dallas for several years, Debbie and Billy relocated to Franklin, NC, where they have operated the Carolina Motel ever since.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, George R. Drake and Marion Miller Drake, brother, George Drake and stepson Patrick Corgan. She is survived by her husband, Billy, her sister, Trudy Drake Matley and brother-in-law Bob Matley, her stepson William H. Corgan III and his wife Jacqi, her nieces, Jill Matley Pearsall and husband George, and Stephanie Matley Engler and husband Dan, and her great nephews, Tyler and Brayden Pearsall.
Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to those around her, and her memory will be cherished always. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her many friends and family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7th, from 4-6 pm at Macon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to The American Cancer Society or a charity close to your heart.
