Deborah J. Fowler, 68, of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 at her home, with her loving family by her side. Deborah was born in Troy, New York on January 24, 1956 to the late Richard and Bernice (McFee) Kretser. She attended local schools, and was a graduate of the Fulton-Montgomery Community College, where she earned her Associates Degree in Human Services.
In 1998 Deborah was united in marriage to Jerry Fowler. Sadly, that union lasted only 3 years until his passing in 2001.
Deborah worked for many years at the Saratoga County Nursing Home in Ballston Spa, until her retirement.
Deborah's world revolved around her family, who were always incredibly important to her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she always enjoyed spending time with them and making crafts.
Her loving family includes her children, Sandy (Paul) Kowalczyk, James "Jamie" (Kristel) Mosher, and Michelle (Bryan) Harper; her siblings, Joyce Darrow, Jason Kretser, and Richard Morby; her 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her faithful canine companion, Chico, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Aside from her parents, Richard and Bernice, and her husband Jerry, Deborah is also preceded in passing by her son, Ernest Daniel "Pooh Bear" Mosher Jr., and by her sister, Donna Buley.
Deborah's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for all of the kindness, care, and support they have provided to them through this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Deborah will be laid to rest in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery with her son. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Deborah's memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078
