Passed away, August 8, 2025, at the age of 66. Debbie was born on January 7, 1959, in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Leroy and Shirley (Moon) Cooper. After graduating high school in Cadillac, she would drive her VW Bug all the way to Traverse City to earn her LPN license.
Debbie practiced as an LPN in the Lansing Area for different doctor offices, Ingham Medical Hospital, and various nursing homes. A true animal lover, she was also their biggest defender. Debbie always found hurt or stray in-need animals that she would take and mend back to health. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved surprising with little gifts.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her son Jake Hartwig in 2021. She is survived by her son, Josh (Jennifer Rodgers) Hartwig; grandchildren, Jade, Jase, Mason, Logan, and Chase Rodgers; four siblings, Greg (Jo) Cooper, Sue (Ron) Smith, Penny (Jack) Adair, and Scott Cooper, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at a later date.
