Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes - Lansing Chapel on Oct. 8, 2025.
With a heart full of grace and hands that nurtured so many, Gloria Mae Rahall, passed away peacefully August 30, 2025 at Gunnisonville Meadows in Lansing. Born January 11, 1929, in Freemont, Michigan, to the late Stanley and Beatrice (Miller) Charles. Gloria's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her family and her faith.
When she married her late husband Raymon and was introduced to the Lebanese
culture, she did more than simply join a new family – she wholeheartedly embraced their traditions, their cuisine, and their way of life. She became an avid learner of Lebanese customs, mastering the art of cooking traditional dishes that would become staples at family gatherings. She even became fluent in the Arabic language. Her love for Lebanese culture was infectious, and she lived to serve her family with every delicious meal and every shared tradition. Many years ago Gloria was given the nickname "GoGo", because she was always on the move. As a home maker she was always on the road, going to either Meijer, Horrocks or the Lansing City Market to gather whatever was on her menu for that day. Later after Raymon had passed she kept this routine up and was on the road delivering her delicious meals to various family members. When not preparing meals she had a passion for walking. She would be seen walking around West Lansing in good weather, and inside the Lansing Mall during bad weather. She never had any walking partners because nobody could keep up with her! Most days she walked 5 miles and continued this into her mid 80's. Walking was her therapy.
GoGo's life was a testament to love and selflessness. As the best mom to her
four children, she was the epitome of a caregiver. Not only to her own parents but
also to her cherished mother-in-law, Edith Rahall. Her gentle spirit and loving nature made her the cornerstone of her family, and her selfless dedication to others was evident in every aspect of her life. Her active involvement in the St. Joseph Melkite community reflected her deep faith and her desire to serve. Gloria Mae was also a member of the Ladies Cedars Club, where she formed lifelong friendships.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymon (1983), brother Lowell Charles (2001), daughter Vicki Rahall (2003), son Daniel Rahall, II (2013), grandson Samuel Rahall (1997) and a son-in-law Angelo Monteleone (2005).
She is survived by her devoted children, Cristi Monteleone and Charles (Lisa) Rahall; sister-in-law, Molly Culver, grandchildren Shawn Rahall, Lisa Kelly, Joseph (Mindi) Rahall, Jennifer Kelly, Melissa Capa, Rachel Gillespie, Emma Rahall, Anna (Robert) Marek, Megan (Austin) Cook, Raymon (Tori) Rahall, and Noah Rahall, many great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Also several nieces and nephews.
Cristi and Chuck are deeply grateful to GoGo's loving granddaughter Anna Mae for her never ending love and support for her Sitto, always being there for her over the last several years.
We would like to thank the caring, amazing staff at Gunnisonville Meadows where GoGo lived for the past 5 years. The entire organization made Gunnisonville the perfect place for GoGo to live out her final years.
