Jerri Lee Baisel, 81, a lifelong resident of Holt, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Jerri was the beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Baisel for 62 years. High school sweethearts, their enduring love was the foundation of a beautiful life filled with devotion, laughter, and shared memories. Together, they raised three children: Kelli (Alex) Zurek, Steven Baisel, and Chad (Darcie) Baisel, who were the pride and joy of Jerri's life.
Family was everything to Jerri. She was a fiercely proud grandmother to Erica (Haran) Ellis, Joey (Kim) Zurek, Cody Baisel, Kyle Baisel, Britnee (Eugene) Rivera, Morgan (Thomas) Lombardo, Taylor (Tyler) Pilch, and Summer (Ramiro) Valero; and a loving great-grandmother to JoElle Ellis, Alexander Ellis, Jesse Zurek, and Cameron Zurek. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by loved ones-sharing stories, playing cards, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying each other's company.
In 1991, Jerri received a liver transplant from the University of Michigan. She is one of the oldest liver recipients in Michigan. Her strength, resilience, and deep gratitude for life were evident every day. She was a living testament to hope, perseverance, and the gift of time-a gift she used well in treasuring every moment with family.
Jerri's passions included playing Bridge, Poker, and Michigan Rummy, crafting, and enjoying golf. She had a sharp mind, a generous spirit, and a quick wit that made her a favorite at every gathering. She brought joy, warmth, and creativity into every room she entered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Darlene Leyrer. She is survived by her devoted husband Bob; her three children and their spouses; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; Brother Larry (Suzie) Leyrer, several nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends who will honor her memory forever.
An open house visitation to celebrate Jerri's life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
