Deborah Heyman Kiester, age 74, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024.
Debbie was born in Washington, Pennsylvania and resided in Wheeling all her life.
She was a graduate of Triadelphia High School as well as West Virginia University, where she majored in art and English and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She worked as an art teacher at Wheeling Country Day School for many years before using her creativity as a floral designer at Elm Grove Flowers until her retirement.
Debbie is survived by her loving family: her son, Kane and his wife, Kristin; her cherished grandson, Corson; her sister, Susan Heyman Ernst; her brothers, Cecil Heyman and wife, Jennifer and Chuck Heyman and wife, Beth. She also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews who will always remember her kindness and love.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Wilma Heyman; her husband, Rod Kiester; and her brother-in-law, Paul Ernst.
In accordance with Deborah's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. A celebration of life will be held by family at her most cherished place, Ocean City, New Jersey at a later date. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
In remembrance of Debbie's life, the family requests that any charitable donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at secure.ASPCA.org/donate/memorial
