Deborah M. Kretschmer (nee Mayhew), of New Providence, NJ passed away on November 5, 2024 at the age of 69.
Deborah was born on February 14, 1955, in Phillipsburg, PA. She was the daughter of Ruth (nee Treyz) and Raymond Mayhew. Deborah grew up in Summit, NJ and was a longtime resident of New Providence. She was employed as a Legal Assistant at the Law Office of Bart A Chase in Summit, NJ. Deborah was devoted to her cherished family and spent countless hours volunteering for her children's sports teams. When her children were growing up, she supported the New Providence High School Football team as the Breakfast Mom.
Deborah's greatest love was for her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her loving children, Joseph R. Kretchmer and Lisa M. Kretschmer; her cherished grandson Crosby Smith-Kretschmer; and her dear siblings, Judy Andrews and Susan Blanchard. Deborah was predeceased by her beloved husband in July of this year, William S. Kretschmer, Jr. and by her loving son William S. Kretschmer, III., in 2020.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Our Lady of Peace Church, 111 South St., New Providence, NJ to celebrate the Funeral Mass which will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 15th. A celebration of her life will follow at the William Paca Club.
