Deborah Pierce

Deborah Ann Pierce, 73, of Dalton, passed away peacefully at her home on November 5, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Manhattan, NY, on October 6, 1952, she was the daughter of Robert and Sophia (Hallas) Proctor.
Deborah grew up with a quick wit, a strong work ethic, and a heart that always put others first. A 1971 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, she went on to work as a bookkeeper for over 40 years and spent many happy years bartending at the Dalton VFW, where her laughter and easy conversation made everyone feel welcome.
Those who knew Deborah will remember her kindness, her honesty, and her love for family. She cherished time spent with her daughters, Heather L. Grunin of Dalton and Stacy L. Strain and her husband, John, of Windsor, and she absolutely adored her granddaughter, Isabella S. Grunin, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves her brothers, Richard Proctor, Sr. (Lucia) of Lowell and Gregory Proctor (Holly) of Hinsdale; her sister, Darlene Proctor-Wendling of Pittsfield; two nieces, Lee and Barbie; and four nephews, Ricky, Andy, Bryan, and Shane, all of whom will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her brother, Adrian Proctor.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, with burial to follow at Maple Street Cemetery in Hinsdale. Following the burial, a celebration of Deborah's life will be held at Zucchini's Restaurant, 1331 North Street, Pittsfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Deborah's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
Deborah will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and her beautiful way of making everyone feel like family.
