Deborah Carol Walker, 68, of
Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on March 11, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia, Deborah lived a full and vibrant life marked by faith, compassion, and a devotion to the people she cherished.
Deborah was sassy, fierce, fun-loving, and tenderhearted. She had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and her presence brought warmth wherever she went. Her family was her greatest joy. She adored her fourteen grandchildren and her great-grandchild, who all brought her endless happiness.
She was a committed member of Willow Oak Baptist Church and lived out her faith through continual acts of kindness and service. Deborah gave freely of her time in support of veterans and animals. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and driving her beloved convertible Mustang. She also loved staying connected with friends as an active member of the Kathleen High School Class of 1975 reunion committee.
Deborah is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Gary Lee Walker. She is also survived by her children, Charles (Lori Neuenfeldt) Freeman and Nickki (Aaron) Braun, and by her stepsons Robbie (Alishia) Walker, Ricky (Allison) Walker, and John (Jordann) Walker. Her grandchildren are Kassidy, Payton, Jordan, Alexander, Lianess, Alissa, Holly, Devyn, Trace, Ella, Celia, John, Jamison, and Gabriella. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Ava Raye, and her beloved Yorkie, Corky.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sammy Berges, and her brothers, Tommy Fullerton and Billy Dail.
A funeral service will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, 2025. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by the service at 11 AM. Graveside internment is preferred for family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to SPCA Florida or Polk County Animal Control in Deborah's memory.
