PITTSTON TWP. — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah J. Zuccaro, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, who departed this life unexpectedly on Dec. 19, 2024, at the age of 71.
Born Oct. 19, 1953, in Kingston, Pa., Deborah lived a life filled with love, compassion and creativity. She spent her early years in Nanticoke, where she graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1971. Following her high school education, she earned an associate's degree from Luzerne County Community College.
Deborah dedicated over 15 years of her career as an optical assistant at Northeast Eye Institute, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and expertise. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Deborah was passionate about crocheting and enjoyed attending various craft shows, where she shared her handmade creations and connected with fellow artisans.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, Pellegrino (Paul) Zuccaro; her cherished children: John Zuccaro; Deona and husband, Fred Erbacher; and Gina and husband. Dakota Stritzinger; her beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, John Jr., Kassidy, Holden Erbacher and Sawyer Erbacher. Deborah is also survived by her siblings: brother, Michael Martin; sister, Linda Baldoni; brother, Denis Martin; and sister, Chrissy Dress; along with numerous nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by brother, Tommy Martin.
In honor of Deborah's vibrant spirit and the love she shared with all, a celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 700 S. Township Blvd., Pittston Township. Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during the calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on the same day.
As we gather to celebrate Deborah's life, we invite all who knew and loved her to join in remembrance of the joy she brought into our lives. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
