Debra Duprey Obituary Debra L. McGurren Duprey, age 69, of Chester, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her home.
Born on May 11, 1956, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late James Richard McGurren and Mary Marie Harris Gill.
Debra graduated from East Liverpool High School, Class of 1974, and went on to earn a degree in accounting from Ohio Valley Business College. Her exceptional skills in cosmetology led her to serve as the director of the former Lewis Wineberger and Hill Beauty School, where she also taught at Clark Gilbert and Silverthorn. She was formerly employed at Artistic Accent in Chester and at Mountaineer Casino in the Vault. Debra was passionate about playing Bingo at Monaca Turner, shopping, dining out, and traveling with friends.
She leaves behind her son, Scott French, and his wife, Jennifer, of East Liverpool; grandchildren Austin French (Marisol Bell), Logan French (Addison Camp), and Evan French; and siblings Linda Spoonemore (Rich) of Golden, CO, Mary Jane Dickey of Joshua, TX, Nancy Deyarmon (David) of Calcutta, Paul McGurren of Dallas, TX, and James McGurren of Colorado Springs, CO. Debra was preceded in death by her infant son, Jason Duprey; sisters Wanita "Ann" Hoyt and Valerie Cunningham; aunts Ethel Dunaway and Virginia Martin; and her cherished dog, Sassy.
A service officiated by Pastor Dirk Hall will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM. Private interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with her family at the funeral home, two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
