Debra Jane Jameson, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the age of 62. She was born on March 3, 1962, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Bobby Dale Jameson and Clara Gene (Southward) Jameson. Raised in Headrick, Oklahoma, Debra was a lifelong member of the community, graduating from Altus High School in 1982.
At the heart of Debra's life was her unwavering faith. She was baptized at Headrick First Baptist Church, where she found comfort in the teachings of Jesus and the timeless beauty of old hymns. Her deep love for God was evident in her every action, and her kindness and compassion were a reflection of her spiritual devotion.
Debra's heart was as big as her faith. She had an extraordinary love for animals, caring for all creatures, great and small-from cats and dogs to raccoons, livestock, and even skunks. Her home was a sanctuary for those in need, she tended to each animal with the same nurturing spirit that she brought to every relationship with a selflessness that was a testament to her boundless love.
She had an infectious joy for life and a gift for connecting with people. Debra never met a stranger; wherever she went, she made a friend. Her simple trips to the store often turned into hours of conversations, as she took the time to truly engage with everyone she encountered. Whether it was sharing a laugh or offering a kind word, Debra's warmth and genuine interest in others left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Above all, Debra cherished her family. She was especially devoted to her nephews, Kyle and John, whose presence in her life brought her immeasurable joy. They held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Debra's legacy is one of love, kindness, and genuine connection. She lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and compassion, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a family and community that will forever be grateful for the love and joy she brought into their lives.
Preceding her in death were her father, Bobby Dale Jameson; mother, Clara Gene Southward Jameson; grandparents, J.O. and Iula Southward, and Sam and Ider Lee Jameson.
Left to care on her legacy are her brothers, Robert Jameson and wife Cheryl of Altus, Oklahoma, Steve Jameson and wife Theresa of Headrick, Oklahoma, sister, Kim Myers, of Marrietta, Oklahoma; nephews, Kyle Jameson and wife Leslie of Altus, Oklahoma, John Myers of Memphis, Texas, two great nieces, Destiny and Journey of Altus, Oklahoma; two Aunts, Patsy Bynum of Rogers, Arkansas, Gaye Harvey and husband Alton of Altus, Oklahoma; special cousins, Stewart Messner of Headley, Texas, and Angela Hanines of Round Rock, Texas, a host of cousins, extended family members, church family and countless friends.
