Debra Lee Maupin, age 67, passed away on August 12, 2025, at St Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born on January 8, 1958, to Jerry and Beverly (Noskowiak) Schwartz in Antigo. She was raised in Appleton, but somehow, Antigo always felt like home because that’s where her grandparents lived. During an adventurous time in her life, Debra lived in California, and that is where she met Michael Maupin. In 1992, she and Mike married following their return to Appleton. Mike lovingly absorbed Debra’s two children into his life and his heart.
Early in her work life, Deb worked at Rennes Health and Rehab. She enjoyed caring for people. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and her mom on “perm days.” Debra was a rabid Packer fan! She enjoyed gardening and while Mike was more of the vegetable guy, Deb cared for the flowers. She was especially adept at directing the locations of plants. She loved to be a mom-and always had dinner ready for a meal at 6pm. She enjoyed baking and cooking- her passion was Christmas cookies, a loving result of 3 days of baking. She also was known for making wonderful homemade pizza!
Deb is lovingly survived by her husband Mike; children: Scott, and Catherine (Mike Daverveld); grandchildren: Aubree, Axel, and Weston. She is further survived by her siblings and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
At Debra’s request, no formal services will be held. Please honor her by “paying it forward” to someone who needs a little loving hand.
At some date in the future there will be a celebration of life-please check back.
