Debra Reid Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 14, 2024.
Debra Lorraine Reid, 69 years of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Debra was born on December 30th, 1954, in Miami, Florida, to Donald R. Reid, an electrician and firefighter, and Sandy G. Logan Reid, a homemaker and artist.
Debra was a pioneer at a young age, having been a "line woman" for Southern Bell in a field predominantly led by men at that time. Never one to hesitate at a challenge, and, following her heart, Debra found her home in Eureka Springs and went back to school and graduated with her Master's Degree in Social Work in 2007. She was a strong advocate for mental health and was passionate about counseling people of all ages throughout her career. In 2018, she fulfilled her dream of opening her own practice and, as a mental health therapist, continued to counsel people in her community for many years.
Debra was most proud of her daughter, Tamaira Lanore Loveless, and her beautiful twin grandchildren, Ransom Elijah and Reine Noelle, whom she very fondly called "her twins". Grandma Deb will always be remembered by them as "the greatest grandma in the world".
Debra is predeceased by her father, her mother, and her sister, Ellie Reid Fleegle.
She is survived by her daughter Tamaira, son-in-law, Brandon, and her grandchildren; her siblings Donna G. Vernier (Steven), Dawn J. Jackson (John), Donald R. Reid (Cindy), and Dana S. Weseman (Walt); 11 nieces and nephews; her cherished extended family, Mary Jo, Renee, Sandy, Pat, Shea, Alyce, Linda and countless others; and her beloved puppies Poppy and Maggie.
No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debra's name to Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village, 120 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712. To donate, please contact Dee Vaughn, CFRE, at (479)750-6632. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com.

Deb and I worked together in the 1990's. Always fun and witty, we always knew a good time would be had by all.
She loved dark chocolate, so when I knew she was coming to the pharmacy, I tried to keep her "hooked-up" with some sweets.
We were so proud of her when she got her Master's Degree knowing she would get to do what she loved to do.

Lots of love to the family

My first memory of my eldest sister was the day she brought my baby niece Tamaira home to me, laid her on a blanket on a bed, with me on all fours looking at this precious tiny baby, and my sister saying, "Here she is. Here's your baby. Take good care of her."
My sister gave me the greatest gift of my life - a best friend and sister whom I would walk through life with for all of our days.
I will always miss sending her the annual Mother's Day card I sent thanking her for giving me such a precious gift. I will miss her gentle spirit, her loving nature, and the way she handled all of life's curveballs with grace, dignity and amazing strength.
