Debra Rutledge Obituary
Debra was born to Ms. Bertha Johnson and Mr. Elbert Toney on February 20, 1963. She is the 4th of 5 siblings. Her mother and father preceded her in death.
Debra joined the church at a young age. She attended Clara Barton School and graduated from Calumet High School. Debra had a love for video games, sci-fi movies, and her kids.
Debra leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 43 years, George Rutledge; her 3 children, Gregory, Tenika, and Gwen Rutledge; her stepson, George Adams; her siblings, Jean Johnson, Diane Johnson, Earl Johnson, and James Moore, and her godfather, Nathaniel Hall. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Sumayah, Nevaeh, and Jayden, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Grace Assembly of God, located at 6822 US-31, Whiteland, IN 46184, followed by a funeral service at 6:00pm.
Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Whiteland Chapel.

Mama. I miss you so much. A simple thought, breaks me. The hardest thing I´ve had to grapple with is the fact that you´re GONE. It doesn´t feel right. Like a dream. Something out of place. The pain is immeasurable. We´re doing our best to get by. I don´t think I´ll ever stop asking why. They say everything happens for a REASON. But I´m truly having a hard time figuring out what the reason was. I really am. It´s like I have to learn how to live all over again. But you knew when it was enough. And I´ll have to respect your decision. I don´t like it, but you knew what was best, Ms. Girl! Lol! I guess it´s true what they say, Ma- a mother truly is a sons first love! I miss you, Ma. And I love you. Watch over us. Don´t hesitate to send a sign every now and then. Lol!
