Debra Ann Walter (née Streck), age 71, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in Akron, Ohio.

Born on January 3, 1954, in Medina, Debra graduated from Highland High School and went on to build a life rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering strength. She dedicated 18 years of service on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company before retiring in 2017. Her work ethic was unmatched-no one worked harder or with more determination than Debra.

Debra's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Walter; her sons Stephan Walter (Melanie) and Nicholas Walter (Catherine); and her cherished grandchildren Bennett Walter and Evelyn Walter. She also leaves behind her siblings Marilyn Stauffer, Christine Sirjane, and James Streck; her brother/nephew Harry "Buddy" Baxter; and nieces Lynn Stauffer-Jordan (Jack), Mary Beth Rieth, Jennifer Stauffer, and Catherine Lynch (Rick).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harry Streck, as well as her grandson Keegan Walter.

A woman of many passions, Debra found joy in gardening and cooking-always eager to share a home-cooked meal or tend to her plants with care. She had a playful spirit that shone through in her love for video games and an enduring loyalty as an avid Cleveland sports fan. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, whom she adored and lovingly spoiled.

Debra was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passion for family was unmatched-she was the ultimate caretaker who always put others before herself. Her strength, resilience, and boundless love left an indelible mark on those around her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May it bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. The family will receive friends on October 4, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Grace Church, Medina East Campus, 2325 Medina Rd. Medina, Ohio 44256. A memorial service will follow at the church at 10:00 AM.

Any flowers or cards should be sent to Grace Church on Friday, October 3rd by 2:00 p.m.
