We are filled with great sadness with the passing of Dale Crabtree of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on February 25, 2025, at the age of 88.
Dale was born on August 10, 1936. He grew up on a farm in Sharon Twp., Ohio. In 1954, he graduated from Highland High School. He then pursued his love of cars by getting his auto mechanic license. After getting his license, he ran a service station in Barberton, Ohio, before moving forward and purchasing his own Amoco service station in Cuyahoga Falls, he then finished his career as the Superintendent of the city of Cuyahoga Falls garage.
Dale met his wife of 65 years, Alice, at church. Dale and Alice went on to have two daughters, Cheryl and Vicki.
In high school, Dale boxed and received numerous trophies. In church, he was in the choir and was chosen to be in the church quartet. They traveled here and there to perform. He also studied karate where he received his black belt. Again, he received so many trophies and awards.
But, Dale’s pride and joy were two things. First his family, and second was the pride he took in all of his vehicles. Each one was special to him and they were always immaculate. His most cherished car was his 1973 Plymouth Duster. He loved that car. He entered it in so many car shows, receiving first place awards many times.
Dale is survived by his beautiful wife, Alice, his daughters, Cheryl and Vicki (Chip). He is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua (Lyndsay), Justin (Sarah), Tara, Jordan, Kayla, Tyler and Gabrielle (Michael). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Michael.
During this difficult journey, we have been so fortunate to have been able to extend our family and friends with some truly wonderful people at St. Luke community. Our family is blessed by a true angel, Andrea from St. Luke's. With her sincere love, heart, guidance and wisdom, we made it through some very hard times, even though we didn't know how we were going to. But, there she was, trying times and good times, with her constant love and care. For the staff that sincerely cared and looked out for our mom and dad, we are eternally grateful. Our extended family also includes Sara, Shannon, Ashley, Tracy, Rita Jean & Tracy of St. Luke's.
