Debra Hopkins Woods

Debra Hopkins Woods, 73, of Martinez, GA., passed away on February 3, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

Mrs. Woods was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Cliffords Grove Baptist Church in Washington and lived most of her life in Wilkes County.

She was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness and could no longer live alone. She went to live with her niece, Lisa Morrison, and family so they could help care for her.

She is lovingly remembered by her family, including her sister, Helen Hopkins Benning, of Martinez; her nieces, Lisa B. Morrison and her husband, Lee, of Martinez, and Vicki Lynn Hopkins Linares, of Washington; her nephew, Robert Wayne Drake, Jr., of Thomson; her grandson, Nicholas Curry Hogan, of Washington; and her son-in-law, Curry Hogan, of Washington.

Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Hopkins and Lois Norman Hopkins; her husband, Steve Edward Woods; her daughter, Amanda Lee Woods Hogan; brothers, Leon Hopkins and Guy Hopkins; and sister, Carol Hopkins Drake.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hopkins Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
