Debra A. "Debbi" Zarkivach, a beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at her residence in Keyport. Born on July 22, 1959, Debbi's life was one of joy, compassion, and dedication to those she loved.

Debbi was predeceased by her beloved parents, Charles and Gladys Summerer, and her husbands, John Zarkivach in 2001 and Paul Young in 2025. Her spirit and legacy will be cherished and carried forward by her cherished son and best friend John Zarkivach of Keyport. Debbi's memory will also be treasured by her aunts and uncles, Janet and Dave Nelson, Judy and Clark Freysinger, Joan Freysinger, and Bobby Cole, as well as her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Pike of Freehold, Eleanor Burke of Jackson, and Dorothy Cottrell of Matawan. Her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members will miss her dearly.

In her professional life, Debbi was the respected director of food services at Care One nursing home, where her dedication to her work and the well-being of others was evident to all who knew her.

Debbi's vibrant personality was matched by her diverse interests and hobbies. She found joy in crafts, engaging in the thrill of bingo, and the excitement of finding treasures at yard sales and flea markets. Debbi's love for adventure took her on memorable trips to Disney, Atlantic City, visiting and walking along boardwalks and numerous visits to Pennsylvania with Paul.

A lover of the open road, Debbi relished the freedom of driving, often with a cup of coffee in hand. Her caring nature extended beyond her human connections to the many stray cats she took under her wing, providing them with care and a loving touch. She also enjoyed entering in contests, where her lucky streak led her to always winning something.

Debbi's life was a portrait of love, care, and the joy of living each day to its fullest. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As we bid farewell to Debbi, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by laughter, love, and the countless ways she touched our lives. She will be profoundly missed, yet forever remembered as a woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, June 1st from 1-3PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers family will be accepting donations.
