Delbert Dallas Montgomery, age 92, born August 22nd, 1932 in Hoosier Hollow, rural Richland Center, WI. Died February 12th, 2025 at AZURA Memory Care in Stoughton, WI.
Del is survived by his three children, Dennis (wife Carol), Tom (wife Joan), Darcie (husband Mike), all of Edgerton and Udo Niederkrome (wife Rita) in Cologne, Germany. He has eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Beverly. His parents, Dallas and Lucille Montgomery and siblings Wilma, Bill and Rosemary.
Del taught for 33 years, 31 in the Edgerton school district. Del spent many of those years at the two room school in Albion where he taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade while Bev taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd until it closed. He moved in town to the Edgerton Junior High and taught 6th grade science there until the new middle school was opened in 1978. He finished his career there teaching science until 1990. Del and Bev shared many hobbies after their retirement in 1990. They traveled, went camping, made various crafts and golfed. They had a winter home in Arizona and a summer trailer in Montello, WI. Dad particularly loved to golf with his buddies John Fahlgren, Ron Grabow and John Onsrud.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at AZURA Memory Care in Stoughton, WI for the wonderful care they provided Dad these last two months. A special shout out to Agrace Hospice for their additional care these last few weeks.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19th from 4 to 7 PM at Albrecht funeral home in Edgerton. Services will be on Thursday, February 20th at United Methodist Church in Edgerton. A brief visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 with the service at 11. In lieu of flowers you may make memorials to United Methodist Church of Edgerton or the Middle School science club Geo Crew.
