Delberta Mae Boultinghouse Earp passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, in Kyle, Texas. She was born October 24, 1946 in Burnet Texas to Oscar Leland Boultinghouse and Allie Lavern Wrye Boultinghouse.
Delberta or Bertie as those who knew her well would say, grew up in the Texas hill country picking peaches in Stonewall and pecans in Marble Falls with her parents Allie & Oscar and her sisters Charlotte, Cordella, Linda. Her younger sister Judy was there but was too small to pick.
When Bertie was 16 she met Hubert Earp and ran away with him, she then had six children; four girls and two boys. Bertie worked for a little while cleaning houses and sitting with the elderly. For a short period of time she worked at the Double D (now known as Kosse Cafe) in addition she served her church and community as a pastor's wife and Sunday school teacher. She loved the lord with all her heart. There were many times you could find her at the church working in her classroom or praying in the sanctuary. She loved to go knock doors with her mother-in-law Jane and share the gospel with others. She wanted to learn to play the organ so she gave that a shot as well.
Bertie loved her family and she loved the holidays when all the children would come to her house. She loved to explore and to travel. Bertie was a strong woman with a strong opinion. If she asked to have something done and it took too long, then she would do it herself. One time she asked to have the yard trimmed with a weed eater and when that didn't happen right away she decided to do it herself. Bertie was found wrestling the weed eater and slamming it onto the ground with a few choice words as to why it didn't work and what she was going to do to the weed eater. Bertie was a woman who was loved by all who knew her.
Bertie is preceded in death by her husband Hubert (Larry) Duwayne Earp, son Larry Duwayne Earp Jr, daughter Lori Janette Lloyd, grandsons Larry Duwayne Earp III, & Tanner Sidney Earp, sister Charlotte Anne Hickson, sister Judith Elaine Boultinghouse, Brother Keith Allen Boultinghouse.
