Delores Dell Boswell was born on November 9, 1940, in Memphis, TN, to Bernice Rose and Ples Eskridge, Jr.

Delores loved the Lord with all her heart. Throughout her life, she was an active member of several churches, including St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Christian Tabernacle Church, and New Prospect Baptist Church. Her faith guided her journey, and she carried that love of God into everything she did.

She was a creative spirit with a gift for crafting, especially in designing breathtaking flower arrangements that brought joy to family and friends.

Delores also had an eclectic love of music. Whether it was Jazz, R&B, Pop, Rock, Gospel, or Country, she had an appreciation for it all-and when the music played, she loved to dance.

She devoted much of her life to being a loving mother while also serving with dedication at the Detroit Board of Education, the United States Postal Service, and Costco.

On September 26, 2025, Delores made a peaceful transition. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ples Eskridge, Jr. and Bernice Rose, and her sister, Barbara Eskridge.

She leaves behind her two sons, Tony Boswell (wife Tiwiana Boswell), and Keith Boswell; her granddaughter, Alexandria Lake (husband Kyle Lake); her great-grandson, Samuel Lake; and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Delores's life was filled with faith, creativity, joy, and love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

"When you are looking at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know."

-Mitch Albom
