Kris was born July 23, 1971 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Louella (née Klusendorf) Herdrich and Cameron Kage. Kris graduated from Troy Athens High School and went on to work as a carpenter for Sebold and Kage.
Kris and former wife, Cheryl Kage, remained lifelong friends and co-parents. He was the very proud and loving father of Kristin Kage (Michael Prosek) and Zackary Kage, who dearly miss him.
Kris was an avid Lions and University of Michigan fan and participated in a fantasy football league with his childhood friends. He was also a roller coaster enthusiast, fireworks connoisseur, and the family's favorite cook.
Preceding Kris in death are his parents, Louella (née Klusendorf) Herdrich and Cameron Kage, step-father Bruce Herdrich, and nephew Jeremy St. Cyr.
He is survived by his children Kristin Kage and Zackary Kage; siblings Debra (née Kage) St. Cyr, Andrea (née Kage) Gasser, Dawn (née Kage) Morris, Ronald Kage, and Jeff Kage; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service will be held on November 15th at 1pm at Saint Augustine Lutheran (SALT) Church. Hors d'oeuvres and desserts will follow. Attendees are requested to wear their favorite U of M or Detroit sports attire.
