Nancy Kage was born July 11, 1921. She met Karl Kage when they were in grade school in Petoskey. They often walked to school together with a group of neighborhood children, not knowing then that their paths would be forever intertwined.

After completing the classes available to her in Petoskey, Nancy moved to Big Rapids to live with her grandmother and continue her education. When she returned home the following summer, she frequently crossed paths with Karl. Their friendship blossomed into love, and they were married on April 13, 1940. They shared nearly 72 years together before Karl's passing, just weeks shy of their anniversary. As Nancy would fondly say, "We had a pretty good run." One of her cherished photos was taken when she was 22, for Karl to carry with him while he served in the Navy during World War II.

In 1950, Nancy and Karl moved to Benzie County, where they built their life and raised their family. Karl worked on the boats, while Nancy put her business and bookkeeping education to work. Over the years, she served her community faithfully in the Benzie County Clerk's Office, for the Village of Beulah, and for Benzonia Township. Through her dedication and service, Nancy became well-known and respected, forming lifelong friendships with many in the area.

Nancy's life was marked by devotion-to her family, her community, and to the man she loved since childhood. She will be remembered for her warmth, her steady presence, and the deep connections she nurtured throughout her 104 years. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Home of Benzonia.

Nancy was a very good friend of my mother, Alda Cook and myself. She was a sharp minded lady. My condolences to her son Bob. She was a special person.
