Delores, age 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, October 7, 2025, at Charter Senior Living.
Delores was born February 2, 1944, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late William and Linda (Burkal) Stilwell. She married the love of her life, Jack Leroy Lucas, on May 30, 1970, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1986.
A devoted homemaker, Delores dedicated her life to caring for her family and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. For over 15 years, she owned and operated a daycare, nurturing and guiding countless children with patience and love. She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bay City.
Delores loved being outdoors and treasured the times she spent traveling across the country with her family and sons for ATV racing. When they went hunting, she often stayed behind in the van or vehicle with a good book in hand. She also enjoyed crocheting and was an avid card player, especially fond of playing hearts and euchre.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Kim Delgado, Keith Slater (Kathy Massey), and Mike (Kristy) Lucas; grandchildren: Sarah Slater, Tony Delgado, Krystal (Danny) Havens, Marc Delgado Jr., Emma Massey, Eric Massey, Kayla (Michael) Downing, Morgan Lucas, Adam Lucas, and Marissa Lucas; and great-grandchildren: Owen Delgado, William Delgado, Mia Young, Weston Lucas, Jordan Delgado, Kentlee Delgado, and Braelynn Delgado.
She is also survived by her sisters Cindy (Wayne) Gassman and Darlene Gardner, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her son William "B.J." Lucas, grandson Joshua Leroy Lucas, brothers Lee (Judy) Stilwell, Keith (Janet) Stilwell, Lynn (Barb) Stilwell, and brother-in-law Jack Gardner.
Delores will be remembered for her kind and giving nature, her devotion to family, and the quiet strength that made her a steady presence in the lives of those who loved her.
Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service celebrating Delores' life will be held at a later date at Faith Lutheran Church, 3033 Wilder Road, Bay City, MI 48706. Please check back at Squires Funeral Home
