Deloris Butler Obituary
2025, at the Alden of Waterford long-term care facility. Deloris was born on August 17,
1925, and she had recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.
The City of Aurora presented her with a 100th Birthday Recognition Plaque.
Deloris was born in Oswego, IL, to Wauneta and Paige Miller. During her youth, she
was a social dancer trained at her aunt's dance studio in Aurora. She graduated from
West Aurora High School and pursued a career as a hairstylist, learning the trade from
her mother, who owned Wauneta's Beauty Salon in downtown Aurora.
Deloris was a member of the Job's Daughters organization and a member of Westminster
Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed socializing with the ladies in her Pinochle Club,
bowling league, and her in-home hair salon. She loved to bake cookies and cakes,
which her family and salon clients enjoyed. Deloris was known for her kindness, her
jokes, her laughter, and her infectious smile.
She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was passionate about babysitting her grandchildren. She is loved and
missed by many.
Deloris was affectionately known as "Dee." She married Gerald Butler of Oxford Depot,
NY, on January 23, 1946. They resided in Aurora, IL, where she gave birth to her 4
children: Linda (Rex) Benjamin of Aurora, IL; Sherry (Dave) Cory of The Woodlands,
TX; Laurie (John) Drew of LaPorte, TX; and Barry Butler of Aurora, IL. Her children
provided her with 9 grandchildren: Todd, Bryan, Jeffrey, Ricky, Kimberly, Darrick, Alicia,
Daniel, and Bridget. Deloris also has 19 great-grandchildren and 9
great-great-grandchildren.
Dee was preceded in death by her husband after 55 years of marriage.
The visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 3 pm to 7 pm at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora. Deloris' funeral will be at 11 am on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park.
