Deloris Devlin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Toale Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Bradenton Chapel on Feb. 21, 2026.
Deloris May Bryan was born on February 3, 1925, to George and Gertrude Bryan of Lima, Ohio. On February 17, 2026, she left this world to meet her Lord and reunite with her loved ones at the age of 101.

Deloris, better known as Dee, married her husband Robert (Bob) and moved to Sarasota in 1946. Together they owned and operated the Southside Sundries aka Southside Drug Store on Osprey Avenue from 1947 to 1970. During this time, they built their dream home on Siesta Key. After selling the drug store, Dee began her career as a hearing aid dealer and established the Acoustic Arts Lab.

Dee, a driven woman, had a thirst for learning, so she returned to college and obtained her master's degree in Audiology from the University of South Florida in 1976. Then at the age of 77, she obtained her Audiological Doctorate (AuD) from the University of Arizona.

As a well-known businesswoman in Sarasota County, she served as a Guardian ad Litem for the 12th Circuit Court, a Docent at the Ringling museum and was a long-time member of the Sarasota Yacht Club where she became an avid bowler at the of age 80.

A sailor at heart and a lifetime lover of water, Dee enjoyed many journeys with her husband and family. She was one of the first women in Sarasota to complete the U.S. Power Squadron courses and later became certified as a Navigation Instructor.

In the late 60's, Dee purchased 26 acres of farmland in east Sarasota and moved her family from Siesta Key to establish Springbrook Farm. She loved her family, focused on their education and success and served as an example for all.

She lived her life to the fullest enjoying horseback riding, gardening/pulling weeds, silversmithing, reading, boating, ballroom dancing and traveling internationally. Dee continued her entrepreneurship by maintaining her presidency of SmoothBeat Corporation until her passing. Quite the history buff, Dee was always happy to share her knowledge, honesty, wit, spunk and laughter ~we are all blessed to have known her!

Dee was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Devlin, father, George Bryan, mother, Gertrude Bryan, brother, Norman Bryan and son, David Devlin. She is survived by daughter, Kathy Devlin (Bambi Lockman), daughter-in-law, Robin Devlin, grandson, Patrick Devlin (Katherine), granddaughter, Mary Brett Evans (Dave), four great grandsons, Wyatt, Weston and James Devlin and David Evans III (Tripp) along with extended family members, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on February 28th at 11:00am at the Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 912 53rd Ave. West, Bradenton, FL. Graveside services will follow at Manasota Memorial Park Cemetery on the corner of 53rd Ave. East, 301 Blvd. East, Bradenton, FL
