Delphine Josephine Falater, age 86, passed away Thursday February 1, 2024.
Del was peacefully welcomed home to her Eternal Father on Thursday February 1, 2024. She was born in Detroit on May 28, 1937, to Joseph and Mary Rozmary. She is the loving wife of Lawrence Falater and was married on June 11, 1960, at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Harper Woods, MI. She is the very loving mother of Joe, David (Linda), Denise, and Paul (Michelle) and grandma of Sarah, Matthew, Andrea, Nathanael, Maggie, Clare, Leah, Veronica, Sophia, Justin, Elizabeth and great grandma of Luke, Henry, Declan, John, Bennett, Mary Anne, Aurora, Margaret, and Elisabeth.
Del is the twin of Dorothy Werthman and younger sister of Lorraine Medici (deceased).
She graduated from Dominican High School in 1955. Del was employed in various mortgage departments throughout her career. Above all else she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her flowers and gardening, sewing, cooking, charitable work, and looking at her family pictures.
Del's incredibly strong faith and belief in prayer carried her through all challenges that came her way. Her gentleness and caring ways to all, especially her family, never wavered because of her incredible love for our God.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Del Falater will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 11 North Board Street, Hillsdale, Michigan, 49242, with Fr. David Reamsnyder officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM at VanHorn Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
