DelRay Layton- Clearfield
DelRay Layton, age 62, passed away Saturday May 21, 2022 at Davis Hospital while battling pneumonia. He was born April 18, 1960 in Ogden to Orson R. Layton and Shirley R. Layton. DelRay grew up in the Clearfield area, attending Clearfield High school. After living in Salmon, Idaho DelRay moved back home to Utah. DelRay spent his life building and growing his own business, I.T.A.D. that he later shared with his son Jared, in which he loved.
DelRay married Shannon Lipe on November 4, 1978, they shared a son Jared. They were later divorced. DelRay later married Teri Gray on August 20, 1987 sharing two daughters Desiree and Kassera. He also gained a daughter Seandia that he raised as his own. They later divorced. DelRay was later with Stephanie Barlow for 19 years, he gained three more daughters that he also raised as his own Chantel, Krista, and Tausha, They later separated.
DelRay enjoyed being with his family and friends, hunting, camping, and
anything outdoors. He adored all his animals; raising turkeys, pheasants,
chickens, ducks, geese, cows, horses, and ALWAYS had his pack of dogs with
him. He also enjoyed watching his kids grow and cause utter mayhem! Anyone
that knew him knew he always had a grandbaby in his arms or by his side as
he would always say "the turds in my back pocket."
DelRay's life will forever be cherished by his surviving family: Jared Ray (Kristin) Layton, Son, Clearfield; Seandia Lee Tribett, Daughter, Salt Lake City; Chantel Patricia (Cody) Schmidt, Daughter, Farr West; Desiree Leona Baker, Daughter, Eden; Krista Lee (Joseph) Fernandez, Daughter, Hooper; Kassera Jaclin (Dustin) Morris, Daughter, Clearfield; Tausha Taylor (Nick) Dunkley, Daughter, Layton. 17 grandbabies: Liberty, Sage, Ryder (Jared); Haydynn and Tyson (Desiree); Leona and Raegan (Kassera); Ocea, Khieren, Khiara (Seandia); Morggan and Krue (Chantel); Jaden, Kysen, Kenzlee (Krista); Drayk and Maicie (Tausha). Three Sisters Terrie (Mark) Thornley, Layton; Kim (Jody) Trujillo, Syracuse; Lori (Jeff) Bowen, Washoe Valley, Nevada. Six nieces and five nephews.
DelRay is preceded in death by his parents; Ray and Shirley Layton, Julie Weese, Dustin Thornley, Teri Layton, Sr. Grandparents Delbert and Annabell Layton and Delbert and Ellen Barnum.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11 am. at Aaron's Mortuary, 1050 S State Street, Clearfield, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm and prior to the service on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 am. at the mortuary.

i just want to say to all the Laytons and friends and family of Delray that he will be missed dearly. This man was good to my family and close to my step dad who married me in to a wonderful loving family. He was a teacher a man,s man jjust like his dad. His presesence was strong and left an imprint on my heart. Jared and seandia and his other kids are saddened by his passing. Thank you Delray for showing me when i was a pup to shoot guns and deeer hunt and camp with my ol man Craig who misses you dearly. my mom mickie loved you too. she always laughed at your jokes and you made fun of my pigeon toed shot playing ball at Orsons i later changed cause of you. you and Craig taught me a llot growing up and had a very big inspiration on me. My wifes dad knew you and had nothing but great things to say. Friends of Marty Layton im sure you guys put a few back. Thank you and rest in piece Delray. say hello to Ray and Shirley, emma , Gail and Maxine. merlin, red, princess who bucked me off twice in a day with Jared holding the raines. bear lake hunting losing Ruben in the hills for 24 hours and the whole camp going and finding him under some bushes. thanks for the memories and God bless your heart.
