Delton "Buford" Wayne Sharp

Delton Wayne Sharp “Buford”, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 62. He was born May 21, 1962, and a lifelong resident of Bush, Louisiana. He graduated from Covington High in 1980. He was an avid Classical Western Movie lover, especially when it came to John Wayne. He was a long-time truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He loved hunting and fishing.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Cherie Stermer Sharp. Sons, David Sharp (Monica), Bobby Sharp (Judy), Christen Sharp Sena (Geonathan). Grandchildren, David “Bubba” Sharp Jr (Alex), Victoria “Tori” Sharp (Mason), Mckenzie Sharp (Damien), Justin Sharp (Aislinn), Dustin Sena, Jadyn Sharp, Mila Sena, Adriana, Nathan and Briana Hernandez. Great Grandchildren, Hayes, Isaiah, Danaya, and Ryland.

He leaves behind his lifelong best friend and brother at heart, Larry R. Taylor.

He leaves behind numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Also, he leaves behind a sister, Janice S. Frazier

He was preceded in death by his father, Delton “Red” Sharp, and his Mother, Doris Christenbury Sharp.

Pallbearers: David Sharp, Bobby Sharp, Geonathan Sena, David Sharp Jr, Justin Sharp, and Dustin Sena. Honorary Pallbearers: BJ Alexie, Mckenzie Sharp, and Nathan Hernandez.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Highway 437, Covington, LA 70435. On Saturday, April 12, a visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until Service time at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sharp's Chapel Church of God; 22191 Sharp Chapel Road, Bush, LA 70431.
