Dema Wiese Obituary

Visit the Cozine Memorial Group - Broadway Mortuary website to view the full obituary.
Dema (Beth) Wiese, 84, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, at her new retirement community, where she had lived for the past eight weeks. Just before that, she had left her longtime home of 39 years in Springfield, Missouri. Beth was born on August 23, 1941, in Greenwood, Arkansas, to the late Francis and Darrell Martin.

Beth attended high school in Lincoln, Nebraska, and, later in life, proudly earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration from Ozark Technical Community College at the age of 52. She even gave the commencement speech to her graduating class-something she treasured deeply. Over the years she worked a variety of jobs ranging from manufacturing to health care, and when she retired, she loved traveling with her husband.

Beth will always be remembered for her love of reading-she nearly always had two or three novels going at once. She also cherished time with her family, enjoyed friendships at the Senior Center, and more recently discovered a new joy in the game of Mahjong.

She is survived by her children: Darrell (Laurie) Morgan of Cave Creek, Arizona; Deborah (Barry) Craig of Bel Aire, Kansas; and Pat Morgan of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren-Brian (Alex) Morgan, Michael Morgan, Danielle (Shawn) Fischer, Megan (Cale) Eldridge, and Isaac Morgan-and four great-grandchildren-Kayleigh and Kaia Fischer, and Hudson and Blakely Eldridge. Beth is also survived by her brother-in-law, Willard Wiese of Beatrice, Nebraska, as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends from the Springfield Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years, Delmar Wiese, and her daughter-in-law, Kaysha Morgan.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in DeWitt, Nebraska, on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local public or school library in Beth's memory. She valued books not only for the stories they told but for the way they opened minds to new ideas and perspectives. By supporting libraries, her love for learning and discovery can be carried forward for future generations.

We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Beth to her memorial page at www.ghchapel.com. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comfort to all who were touched by her remarkable life.

These services have been entrusted to Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
