Dena Elizabeth Smith, 84, of Kingwood, TX passed away on Saturday April 5, 2025.
Born in Eagleswood Township, NJ, Dena spent time living in Copperas Cove and South Padre Island, TX, as well as Brigantine, NJ and Reston, VA, before settling in Kingwood. She worked as a supervisor of guest services for Trump Marina in Atlantic City, where she was once honored as Employee of the Year by Donald Trump.
Dena was a member of Houston’s Second Baptist Church. She loved animals and enjoyed riding horses and walking her dogs. She also had a passion for art, sculpting, reading and entertaining.
Above all, Dena was a devoted wife and a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister.
Dena was predeceased by her husband, Lewis A. Smith, in 2003. She is survived by her sons Michael Smith of Warner Robins, GA, and Scott Smith and wife, Ester Hoylman, of Reston, VA. She is also survived by her brothers, Joel Salmons and wife, Janet, of Kingwood TX, and Donald Salmons of Stafford, NJ; and by her grandchildren: Desiree Smith, Francesca Jones, Rheanna Smith, Joel Smith, and Zachary Smith, as well as her step-granddaughters Kristi Hoylman and Kelci Hoylman.
Visitation will be held on Friday April 25, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ, 08087. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tuckerton, NJ.
