Denise Conley

Denise Katherine Conley (Oliver), age 69, formerly of Bridgewater, MA passed away on April 4, 2025. She was diagnosed with Primary Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Dementia two years prior and ultimately succumbed to these illnesses. She resided at Benchmark at Rye in Rye, NH for the last year and was under the additional care of Beacon Hospice.
Denise grew up in Brockton, MA and was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Warren Oliver. She was a graduate of Brockton High School '73. She attended Worcester State University and graduated in '77 with a bachelors degree in social work. She wanted to pursue a career in which she helped others and over her 40 years working as a social worker she did just that. She worked at several nursing homes in the South Shore area which included Easton Lincoln, Life Care of Raynham, Blue Hills Alzheimers in Stoughton, Queen Anne's in Hingham and Ellis Nursing home in Norwood. She was very proud to be a social worker and was built for the profession as she was very caring and showed compassion to patients and their families. It was definitely her calling.
Outside of work she loved being social and attending all types of social events whether from backyard gatherings, concerts, weddings and local area functions. She rarely said "no" to an invitation. She enjoyed being by the ocean and was always up for snorkeling, boating or jet-skiing on vacations. Her favorite vacation spot was Aruba, taking yearly trips. She was always up for an adventure and even hiked mountains in Montana. She skied for a number of years too. She found immense joy in life, always eager to embrace laughter and the simple pleasures it offered, truly living in the moment.
She is survived by her children Siobhan Conley and husband Douglas Pliska, Kevin Conley and wife Shelby, her beautiful granddaughter Maeve; her siblings Deborah Wilbur of West Bridgewater, MA, Karen Oliver of Salisbury, MA, Brian Oliver and wife Pacharee of Bradenton, Fl; nephew Cliff Oliver and wife Lisa; niece Shanna Russ and husband Ira; sister-in-law June Stearns and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her infant son Sean Conley, her brothers Wayne and Ward Oliver, brother-in-law Barry Wilbur and ex-husband Edward Conley.
All are welcome to attend visiting hours on Saturday, April 12th at the West Bridgewater location from 11-1:30 with a prayer service to follow.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Saturday, April 12th from 11:00AM-1:30PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 1:30PM. Private Cremation will follow.
