Denise Elizabeth Day

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Elizabeth Day, a cherished wife, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at the age of 66.
Denise was born on July 15th, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, to her parents, Milton and Julia Genaw. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, a role in which she found immense fulfillment. A woman of diverse talents and passions, Denise had a gift for gardening and cooking, and she found beauty in drawing and bird watching. Animals brought her joy, and she celebrated holidays with great enthusiasm. Above all, Denise found her greatest joy in being a devoted mother and grandmother, and her love was the cornerstone of her family.
Denise is survived by her husband, Anthony Day, children, Rhonda (Herman) Sutherland, Shelly (Terry) Bodner, Heather Day, and Wyatt Day. She was a proud grandmother to Joseph (Ta'Shalla) Sutherland, Valerie (Keith) Sutherland, Breanna (Dartanion) Key, Jessica Sutherland, Carter Marshall, Paige White, Acein Gunnett, and Liam Marshall. Denise also delighted in the presence of her great-grandchildren, Naleeana Beardsley, Keith Licata Jr., Kenai Beardsley, and Zoey Licata. Denise is also survived by her siblings Suzanne (Dale) Bowers, Steve (Peggy) Simon, Jerry Simon, Bob Simon, and Kristina (Herb) Pitre, as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. Denise is preceded by her parents; Milton and Julia Genaw.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Church of God Ministry Center in White Cloud to honor Denise's life. In memory of Denise and in lieu of flowers, the family has kindly requested donations to assist with unexpected future expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel.
