Denise Samans Obituary
Mrs. Samans was born Oct. 24, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Edward Smith and Celine Plante Smith.
She retired from the State of Delaware in 1998 as a Youth Rehabilitation Officer, she had a very special relationship with her clients and thought of them more as family then clients. Mrs. Samans enjoyed kayaking, baking, music and loved going to concerts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kyle Shultz in 2002.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, David Samans of Dover; daughters, Kristen Shultz of Camden and Brooke Lloyd of Millsboro; brother, Gregory Smith and his wife Andrea of Camden; grandchildren, Kyle and Tye Nantz, Morgan, Carter and Ethan Samans; niece and nephew, Taylor Smith and Jason McPherson.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.

Oh my Sweet Denise. After spending more time with you these past few years I have realized that you and I may have been sisters in a former life. You were a tell it like it is type of gal and I respected that wholeheartedly. I am happy that you are finally reunited with your son Kyle although I will miss you here on Earth with all my heart. I love you Denise.

Denise and I both went to DHS. We met again on Facebook when I noticed she was posting about son Kyle, who passed before her. She was having a hard time, because many of her friends hadn't experienced the loss of a child. I had, and referred her to several Facebook support groups, including another bereaved mother, Carrissa Fowler, who's lost 3 children. Denise found the support she needed through Carrissa and her new and existing friends. I hope and pray she and Kyle are reunited in Heaven. ❤

Denise was always very kind to me in the years I have known her. My sorrows were her sorrows and my joys were her joys. She was a very giving and unselfish person. She was the easiest person to talk to I have ever known. I loved you Denise and the times we shared. Stay strong David. I love you too.
