She was born on December 4, 1954, in Mt. Clemens, MI, a daughter of the late Phyllis and Melvin Charbeneau. She graduated from Chippewa Valley High School in May 1972. Denise married the love of her life Robert Steinbrink on June 23, 1972. They settled and raised their family in North Branch.
Denise loved cooking, camping with her family, traveling with Bob, casino trips with family and friends, online shopping, tending to her flower, vegetable and herb gardens and most of all spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her caring and generous personality, her compassionate heart, honest opinion and candid advice (wanted or not).
Surviving are her adored children Bethany Steinbrink and Joshua Steinbrink. Dear grandchildren Emily, Caleb, Rebekah, Noah, Chloe, and Aubree. Precious great grandchildren, Cora, Kate, Hazel and Charlie. Sisters Cherie Charbeneau and Anette Phillips, brother-in-law Robert Slate, sister-in-law Barb (Eric) Blash and brother-in-law Ron (Mary) Steinbrink. Several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Denise was predeceased by her sweetheart Robert, her parents, stepfather Ralph Smith, sister Susan Slate, sister Michelle Slate, brother Melvin Charbeneau, niece Alexandria Charbeneau, nephew Matthew Slate, niece Lisa Slate, brother-in-law Duane Slate, brother-in-law Thomas Steinbrink, brother-in-law Nip Phillips and mother-in-law and father-in-law Robert and Bernice Steinbrink.
Funeral service 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville, where family and friends may visit 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Pastor Todd Petty officiating.
